The Use of Euler,s Method for Finite Element Solution of Problems of Viscoplasticity and Creep
Plešek, J. ; Korouš, Jan
Euler,s forward scheme with automatic subincrementation was used for integration of constitutive equations for voscoplasticity and creep. The time step length was set on the basis of an a posteriori error estimate. And number of testing was computed and a perfect match between the converged step length and the Cormeau formula for the citical time step was observed.
Study of the Effect of Internal Pressure on Local Buckling of a Pipe
Micka, Michal ; Jíra, J.
Local defects, such as corrosion pits, non-circularity of the cross section, weld defects and local buckling of a pipe, affect the stress state in the pipewall. They produce peak stresses which may have an unfavourable effect on crack initiation during dynamic or static fatigue.
Influence of Spiral Weld on Local Stress State of Wall of HP Pipeline
Jíra, J. ; Micka, Michal
The local effects of the spiral welds on the stress and strain state of the pipe wall were investigated in the hydraulic strength tests of gas high-pressure pipelines. The influence of the spiral welds and notches on the pipe state of stress were investigated experimentally together with the numerical simulation of the behaviour of pipelines.
Behavior of Mortars Reinforced by Fibres
Válek, M. ; Procházka, P. ; Drdácký, Miloš
Paper presents a numerical approach to description of behaviour of mortars reinforced by fibres as they were frequently used in historic masonry structures. It is based on a generalised plane strain state of a cylinder and utilises experimental results of tests on historic mortar samples under cyclic loading.
Engineering Mechanics 2000
Náprstek, Jiří ; Minster, Jiří
The Conference has been focused on general area of Engineering Mechanics: Analysis, modelling and simulation in Mechanics of Solids,, Fluids and Thermodynamics, Problems of non-linear and stochastic dynamics, Diagnostic and identification methods in Mechanics, Interdisciplinary problems in Mechanics,Fracture Mechanics, Complex problems in mechanical systems, Reliability of mechanical systems.
Stability Assessment of Flutter - Type Vibration Using Lyapunov Function
Náprstek, Jiří
The paper deals with the problem of bending torsional flutter of a slender beam of rectangular cross section.
ST2D - Software for Determination of Total Strains on a Surface
Vavřík, Daniel
The new optical method of the total strains zone shape and size identification on a surface named "Method of Deformed Circles" was developed in ITAM CAS. Method is based on the optical observations of deformations of hexagonal grid on the specimen surface. Related software ST2D on Windows platform can determine field of strains, stress and energy.
A New Approach to the Solution of Thin Walled Structures
Kolář, P. ; Kubák, J. ; Vavřík, Daniel
A paper describes a new approach in the finite element analysis FEA for big thin wall structures. This structures could be very effectively solved using quadratic solid TETRA 10 elements and special fast finiteelement FFE technology by COSMOS/M system.
Squeeze - Film Lubrication of the Human Ankle Joint with the Superficial Zone of Articular Cartilage Intact or Worn out
Hlaváček, Miroslav
A squeeze-film lubrication model of the human ankle joint with the fluid transport across the articular surface is presen ted. The intact articular superficial zone is considered as an inextendible permeable membrane and for this case the synovial fluid film maintains for long compared to the case with super ficial zone worn out (early osteoarthritis).
